How to filter your saved TikToks by month

How do I see the TikToks I saved in a specific month?

TikTok has no date filter for saved videos. Your data export, however, timestamps every single save, so a filter becomes possible: import the JSON export into ScrollBack and pick a month from the filter to see only the videos you bookmarked in that period — typically a dozen or two thumbnails instead of thousands.

Step by step

  1. Open your TikTok account settingsIn the TikTok app, tap Profile, then the ☰ menu at the top right, then Settings and privacy.
  2. Go to Account → Download your dataTap Account, then Download your data. This is TikTok's official data export — it is free and available to every account.
  3. Choose the JSON format and include Likes & FavoritesUnder Select data, keep Likes & Favorites (or All data) ticked, then under File format pick JSON rather than TXT. JSON is the one that carries the exact date you saved each video.
  4. Request the file and download itTap Request data, then open the Download data tab. Small exports are often ready in seconds; larger ones can take a few hours. Tap Download and save the ZIP to your phone or computer.
  5. Import the ZIP into ScrollBackOpen scrollback in your browser, drop the ZIP straight in — no unzipping needed. It is read on your own device and your saved videos appear as a grid, oldest first.

Why a month is the right unit

People rarely remember the day they saved something, but they very often remember the season or the circumstance — 'during the holidays', 'when I was training for the race', 'the month I moved'. A month is granular enough to cut thousands of saves down to a screenful, and coarse enough that you don't need a precise memory.

Using the filter

  1. Import your export once — the library persists on your device afterwards.
  2. Open the month selector; only months in which you actually saved something are listed.
  3. Pick one to see just those videos, with a count of how many there are.
  4. Clear the filter to go back to the full history.

Reading your own patterns

A side effect of a month-by-month view is that you can see when you were most active. Long gaps, sudden bursts around a trip or a project, a month where you saved eighty recipes — the shape of your save history is often more interesting than any individual video in it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I filter by a specific day?

The filter works by month, but each thumbnail shows its exact save date, so pinpointing a day within a month takes seconds.

Does the filter work with the oldest-first sort?

Yes, sorting and filtering combine — pick a month and choose the direction within it.

Do I need to re-import each time?

No. The library stays on your device until you clear it, so you can come back and filter again later.

Do it in two minutes
